There are plants everywhere. The flowers that are on the table at the entrance are replaced every Monday. Purple roses! After this Shoomee took me, Adrienne and Kelly out to lunch. We went to a Japanese place and got Tonkatsu. It is breaded, deep-fried pork. It came with the most delicious sauce, rice, kimchi (duh), salad, and miso soup. I didn't take a picture but here is what it looks like:
After the meal we hopped in a cab and headed to the hospital. Cab drives here are tantamount to the Spiderman ride at Island of Adventure. Not only do they speed up and slam on their breaks, they pump the gas. So even if they aren't breaking it's not smooth. This and the nerves about getting my blood drawn made me a little sick. (I have passed out multiple times while giving blood) The hospital here, or just the one we went to, is incredible. So high tech and so nice. We had to change into these gowns in order to get the chest x-ray, then we were weighed and our height was taken, blood pressure, eye exam, hearing exam, pee in a cup, blood drawn and chest x-ray. I DIDN"T FAINT!!! So proud. Maybe this phase is finally over. The chest x-rays were somewhat humorous. Adrienne was before me and she is really small. Her x-ray was still up when I went into the room. It was pretty cool. You could basically just see all the bones and lungs. After mine I looked up and if you read the heading of this post, you'll know what I saw. Quite a different picture.
The taxi ride back was much better than the way there. Shoomee bought us starbucks before we went in to work. (I swear this lady is like a second mother) We hung around and looked over the text books. The school pays for all the teachers' dinners and Shoomee asked if a "Korean Lunch Box" was okay. I said yes of course. We are allowed to order whatever we want, but everyone got the same thing today. I then went to observe my first class. I was rather surprised by how it went. It is VERY strict. The kids are on task and everything is so fast paced. Every class has the same routine. Quiz, pass back scores, exercises, lesson and then homework. The lesson portion only takes up about 25 min of the hour class, so there isn't much planning. We then had our dinner break.
I then observed two more classes and went home. Everything so far has been good. :-D It is getting late my friends. Anyonghijumuseyo! (Good night!)
YOU ARE SO COOL!!!!!!!!!
